Dr. Frank Harmon, a native of Monroe, Louisiana, graduated from Northeast Louisiana University in 1971. He then attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas.
Upon graduating from dental school in 1977, Dr. Harmon completed a general practice residency at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. Following a 3 year tour of duty in Germany, where he was the commander of a medical aid station for mobile radar units, Dr. Harmon entered his oral surgery residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, which he completed in 1984. That year, Dr. Harmon was one of five residents selected as National Resident of the Year by Merk, Sharp, and Dome Pharmaceuticals for his research in the management of continuity defects of the mandible utilizing bone grafts in conjunction with hyperbaric oxygen.
He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Harmon has been practicing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Shreveport, Louisiana since 1987. He holds staff appointments at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Lincoln Parish Medical Center in Ruston, LA, and LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, Louisiana Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Harmon is married to Nancy Wroten Harmon and has 4 children and 4 grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys fly fishing, duck hunting, and woodworking.
